Tenerife Information

An island of contrasts in landscape, nature and occupancy and that is reflected in properties that are just as diverse, catering for seafront views, bustling towns or rural retreats.

Property development has really taken off in the southern half of the island, close to the main tourism destinations and beaches. Los Gigantes is at the western end of the coastal sweep and marries tranquil village life with stunning views and subdued nightlife. Moving south down the coast we encounter the fishing port of Alcala and the revitalised beach of Playa San Juan. Playa Paraiso and Callao Salvaje feed off the main motorway that connects south and north and both have thriving communities and quick access to the larger towns.

Costa Adeje, Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos are the biggest tourist areas and boast vast stretches of bathing and swimming beaches. Costa Adeje has a championship golf course and is bright and modern. Playa de las Americas is a man made resort, long established and containing the nightlife heart of the south with the famous Starco and Veronicas. Those 2 complexes are concentrated in a relatively small area leaving the rest of the resort well served with plenty of entertainment choices for those who want a quieter and slower pace.

Los Cristianos was the first of the tourist areas to develop and grew up around a still thriving port and marina. Much of the old Canarian character remains but with the welcome addition of a huge man made beach and a wealth of eating and shopping delights.

Heading out eastwards on the way to the Reina Sofia south airport, are the modern resorts of Amarilla Golf and Golf del Sur. As the names suggest they are golfing heaven with large rolling courses, fantastic views out to sea and a relaxing atmosphere.

Move in just a few miles from the coastal areas and you will find Canarian tradition alive and well in tastefully developed estates that compliment small intimate villages. Here life is slower and property tends to be cheaper and the natural beauty of mountains and rugged walks are yours to explore.

One of the great advantages of Tenerife is it’s size, there is so much variation on the island but with great roads and transport you will be around an hour from the north or south airport and about the same time separates the beaches of the south from the capital and business centre Santa Cruz in the north.
