Derek Muhs
Director of Homes of Tenerife and Homes of Cape Verde
Derek has played an integral role in developing AIP Group since 1999. As one of the directors of the group, he oversees the company’s expansion into new property markets and his tireless approach to uncovering new investment opportunities has served many of our clients well over the years.
Derek has almost single-handedly opened up several new property investment locations for clients of the AIP Group. During his former years with AIP Group, Derek installed the group’s first office and permanent staff in Fuerteventura, before going on to launch our ‘Homes of…’ brand to tour property exhibitions around the world.
In 2005 Derek threw open the doors to The Property Market, a comprehensive weekly homes exhibition in the five star Mare Nostrum Resort on the border between Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Americas. There AIP Group showcases a wide range of investment properties from across the Canaries, the Cape Verde Islands and Morocco.He directed AIP Group’s expansion into the Cape Verde Islands during 2006. AIP’s launch of Homes of Cape Verde was entirely managed by Derek. Today we offer the best property investments in new developments throughout Cape Verde and enjoy strong links with the elite of property developers on the islands as a result of his work.
During his eight year stay with the group, Derek has also tirelessly trawled the world showcasing our products at exhibitions from Moscow to Monaco and forging alliances with other reputable agencies in viable locations.A regular panellist on Channel 4 and GMT foreign property shows, Derek is currently engineering AIP Group’s expansion into Morocco and the west coast of Africa.
Alex Veccia
AIP Marketing Director
Skilled in advertising, marketing and design, Alex previously conceived corporate images and promotion strategies for many property developers in the Canary Islands and Cape Verde Islands. He has also branded real estate agencies in Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Cape Verde and Morocco.
With further experience as production manager on several glossy property magazines, Alex gives the AIP Group a wide variety of marketing skills, a broad range of contacts in associated industries, as well as a media savvy edge.
An avid collector of stock photography from the Atlantic region, Alex has had his own work published in A Place in the Sun magazine, The Daily Express, SKF Evolution and Spain magazine among other high profile publications.
During the short time Alex has been with AIP Group, he has spent his time assessing the efficiency of all marketing strategies, streamlining the company’s approach at department and organisation level where necessary.
Alex is currently working on the new website for AIP Group, while formulating a marketing strategy and website for our new ‘Homes of Morocco’ brand.
Sue Lewis
Senior Sales Consultant and Valuations Advisor
Highly qualified as both a surveyor and an estate agent, Sue specializes in land and rustic property for the group.
An academic of the property industry, Sue has immersed herself in the UK and Spanish markets for almost 15 years.
Sue left the UK after five years as a fully-qualified land, building and quantity surveyor, gained her own license to trade as an estate agent in Spain, but joined AIP Group in late 2002 and is on-track to attain Spanish certificates in evaluation and surveying.
Fabio Bruscolotti
Senior Sales Consultant
With more than ten years of experience in the property market of south Tenerife, Fabio has spent every one of those days working for AIP Group.
Fabio has managed property offices throughout most of the group's key estate agent brands and he also works closely with the island’s developers to enable all sales staff have up-to-date information at hand for clients.
Soon to have lived in Tenerife for 30 years, Fabio has a wealth of experience to offer all AIP Group’s clients.
Jacqueline Pitt

Previously employed by another prominent property group in south Tenerife, Jacqueline quickly developed an impressive track record finding perfect homes for her clients.
Her exemplary dedication to the housing market in this region made her an obvious target for the AIP Group when she became available for recruitment.
With a little less than one year under her belt with AIP, Jacqueline is already proving to be an extremely valuable asset.
Rosana Mesa

Fully bilingual in English and Spanish and proficient in German and Portuguese, Rosana Mesa plays an integral part of our Legal team here at the AIP Property Group.
Rosana studied in Barcelona and has been with the AIP Property Group for over 5 years. Fully qualified as a ¨Property Advisor¨ and regularly keeps upto date with refresher courses, to provide the best legal services possible for our valued clients.
Steven Schweller

Originally from Ontario, Canada, Steven came to the Canary Islands in 1999 and began working in real estate soon after.
Upon opening his own estate agency in Los Cristianos, Steven’s business developed strong links with property markets in Canada and United Arab Emirates before it was absorbed into AIP Group.
Steven is a strong component in the success of AIP Group's exhibition programme as well as sales through satellite offices around the world.
Maria Sabova
Senior Sales Consultant
While almost everyone at AIP speaks two languages or more, Maria still manages to put the entire staff of the group to shame.
Fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, Slovakian, Russian, Hungarian and Czech, Maria is vital in coordinating the AIP Group's exhibition programme as well as sales through satellite offices around the world. As a result, Maria also specialises in the resale of property in the Canaries as well as the purchase of luxury homes in Cape Verde.
Margarita Pérez Rivas
Senior Sales Administrator and Consultant
British-born Margarita returned to her father's homeland after 18 years in London. She took a job in the first estate agency to open in Los Cristianos and has worked in the local housing market ever since.
Having worked for AIP Group more recently, Margarita provides key experience in the administration of house sales and property purchases in Spain.
Peter Penington
Senior Sales Consultant
Following more than 30 years of UK corporate life, Peter finds his role as senior sales consultant and liaison between constructor and client a light relief in the Canary sunshine.
Peter’s business experience and pedigree ensures clients of AIP receive superior treatment from constructors and developers when buying an off-plan home.
Now approaching his fourth year with AIP Group, Peter continues to specialise in new-build investments as well as retirement homes.
Emma Telfer
Senior Sales Consultant
Despite her tender years, Emma has proved herself to be a rising star during the two years she has worked for AIP Group. She plays an integral part in organizing both AIP's regular property show in Playa de Las Americas as well as worldwide exhibition tour schedules. As a result, Emma deals with a significant amount of internet enquiries from overseas investors.
Most recently Emma has strengthened her expertise in new-build constructions in Cape Verde with several visits to the islands of Sal and Sao Vicente, islands she describes as 'the most exciting property investments in the modern world today'.
